Modifiable factors that can affect Telomeres include low socioeconomic factors, and lifestyle status including obesity, cigarette smoking, and stress. Exposure to severe and long-lasting stress conditions is associated with shorter telomere length and notable symptoms of premature aging persisted after the stress subsided (Konečná, et al., 2019).
